30 hours to 30 minutes: anatomy of a reconciliation rebuild

An annual T&E reconciliation ran two months, lived in Excel, and broke if its one operator left. The last cycle I automated with Office Scripts, AI-assisted, inside the same window it used to consume.

The point was never speed. The point was that the process should run without me — and it did. My successor ran it cold, from documentation, on the first try.
